About Gillick Coaching

Rugby has always been my drive and I have been lucky enough to have made a career from it. My experiences have come from being involved with Leicester Tigers through my youth where i was blessed to be involved in such a professional environment which has laid the foundations for my drive and passion to create resilient, hardworking, coachable young people. 

From my involvement at Tigers, though Moseley, I finally ended up back in Cambridgeshire playing for Cambridge and most recently Shelford. During my playing pathway I have been fortunate to work under and alongside some fantastic coaches, Neil Back, Graham Rowntree, Carl Douglas, Kevin Maggs, Dick Matthews and Dan Richmond to name just a few. These coaches who are all very different in all instilled the drive to realise the potential of those they coach- this is my 'WHY?'.

I strive to tailor sessions to best develop the individual I am coaching and while I aim to produce resilient, hardworking and coachable individuals, I believe 'enjoyment' has to be at the centre of what we do as coaches- this is why we got involved or have stayed involved with sport after all.
